JOB DONE!
My name is Adam Wolley and on the 2nd of January 2010 I left from London to cycle the 14,000 kilometres to Cape Town through 17 countries in 7 months, all in aid of Malaria Consortium. On the 20th of July 2010 I realised my dream and arrived at the Cape of Good Hope at the tip of Africa after 200 days and 14,231km.
Malaria is a serious problem in Africa, killing a child every 30 seconds. The worst thing is that this will continue as less than 5 percent of people at greatest risk have an insecticide-treated mosquito net to sleep under. It costs a mere £5 to make and deliver a mosquito net that can provide essential protection at night for 2 children or a pregnant mother, I set out to raise £5,000 as of this writing over £20,000 has been raised which will fund at least 4000 nets.
THE NEXT CHALLENGE!
Next I will attempt to Row the Mid Atlantic Ocean as part of a team of 4 aiming to be the youngest to do so. For more info click the logo below!
